Piano Lessons

I offer private piano lessons for all ages beginning at 5 years old. In addition to providing classical training, I also teach students to 'play by ear'. My goal is to inspire my students by teaching piano with a focus on improvement and positive reinforcement. I am currently accepting beginner and intermediate level students.

Technology Lessons

Musical technology is a skill that I've learned through necessity and it has developed into a passion. I specialize in how to incorporate musical technology into live performance. These lessons are best suited to students 14 years and older in an unstructured format, dependant on computer proficiency.

Weddings & other special Events

Stewart Cochran Piano has been providing music for weddings and other special events in Austin for more than 10 years. Venues include Weddings and Receptions, private parties, corporate parties and banquets. I am happy to assist in music selection and am well versed in from the 1920s to the most recent hits. With a background in classical and jazz, I am comfortable within every musical genre.

in the studio

I have vast experience in the studio setting and can usually create the desired sound in one take. I have played and recorded with local artists including Bruce Robison, Charlie Robison, Kim Richey, Jimmy Lafave, Abra Moore, David Garza, Ginger Leigh and of course my own band 54 Seconds. I am available at a reduced rate for remote sessions (send me a rough mix and I'll send you back several takes of overdubs to pick from).
